Spend an atypical day with me, Renato, and my wife Antonella, discovering the typical dishes of Matera.
Antonella will teach you the traditional recipes and techniques that grandma Antonietta has handed down to us in the kitchen, including anecdotes, family stories and good wine. Take part in this little traditional cooking lesson and enjoy what you have cooked like in a party. You will spend a different day drinking and eating in a house in modern Matera.
If you want, you can also come to the local market to buy fresh ingredients for the meal.
Try your hand at a culinary experience with the unique flavors and warmth of a young maternal family.
It will be an honor to welcome travelers in a travelers’ house!
The menu changes according to the seasons and the needs of the guests.

Madonna delle Croci excursion

Starting from the Belvedere it will arrive in one of the best preserved cave complexes of all of the assets of Matera.
Difficulty level easy. Departure from Our Lady of the Three Doors and then navigate the canyon and get to the cave church of Our Lady of the crosses which houses one of the finest frescoes of Matera. Along the way we will follow a pastoral cattle track and will be explained the city of Matera.
Hours: morning and afternoon departure until 15e30
Duration 2 hours
Along the way, even the plants typical of the Murgia will be explained.

Path Matera – Madonna delle Vergini (Hike)

Medium difficulty level. It starts from Porta gun to go down in the creek Gravina and to the other side of the canyon, passing by Our Lady of Monteverde, then climb over the hill in Murgecchia Madonna complex of angels and then down the stream to go on another ridge of the canyon and get to the Virgin of Virgins.

Belvedere Trail (Hike) – Discovering the rock churches

You will find three stone churches that are part of the oldest group of rock heritage.
